Strip Billboards first project was displayed on the side of the Corner Hotel in Richmond from May 2009 to May 2010, sponsored by The City of Yarra and supported by the Australian Cartooning Association. This project ran for a year, members of the public and cartoonists were invited to submit a response to current issues, both public and private in the form of a cartoon.
There was a huge response with applications being received from students and single mums through to Stanley award winning cartoonists. The final works for display were selected by judges from both arts and media backgrounds. The work was then displayed as a 3 x 1.4 meter billboard on the side of the Corner Hotel in Richmond, each up for a three-week period. We had a fantastic response from all areas of the community including the public, the media and the arts community
