ABOUT
Strip Billboard Inc. organises public art projects which put non- commercial images into high exposure public spaces. We encourage both artists and the public to participate in the projects in our lively annual program.

BACKGROUND
In 2009 Strip Bllboard Inc was founded by Rebecca Umlauf and Mario D’Cruz to create an avenue for the public and artists to respond to a range of issues not being represented in the mainstream media. With the support of the City of Yarra and the Victorian Cartooning Association they devised their first project, which put large-scale cartoons in pubic space. Judges from both the arts, and media worlds selected the final works for display. In 2010 Ginta Mebalds joined the project team bringing a strong photographic background and a keen interest in telling visual stories.

SPACES
We aim to show in high profile public spaces, sometimes claiming existing sites used for commercial images. Strip Billboard Inc also aims to work with artists and galleries to devise new avenues for their work to be displayed in public spaces.
